DAY 27– Saturday, May 23 (FINISH 🎉)
📍 Midway → Plover
🚴♂️ Miles: 127
127 miles.
The longest day. The final push. The finish line.
EDIT! Full disclosure. I did not ride 127 miles today. Over the course of the the first 25 days of TOT 6.5 I rode an extra 99 miles. That allowed me to use those banked 99 miles and when added to today’s 35 I ended with 1,915, 7 over the 1,908 advertised.
I bank miles in case of weather, bike issues, possible injury or illness on the trail. Or in this case, use them to turn a long day into a short one. 😊
Adam and Mark just arrived in Sparta via the La Crosse Sparta Bike Trail. One final stretch together before the route split — Adam heading north toward home, while Mark continued northeast toward Plover and the finish line.
From there, it was all heart.
From Denver to Wisconsin. Nearly 1,900 miles.
For Selena. For every donor. For every life still waiting.
✨ Fun fact: The Elroy-Sparta Trail is considered the first rail-trail in the United States. The donor who helped fund Missouri’s famous Katy Trail was inspired by the success of the Elroy-Sparta Trail — helping create one of the longest rail-trails in the country.
HE DID IT. ❤️
