After 27 days in Ohio, Katie, Eric, and Super Duper Cooper made it back home to Minnesota!

They had a rough couple of weeks after the surgery which was expected, but Cooper is doing amazing. They are just blown away that his quality of life could improve so much in a few short weeks.
Needing a kidney was only part of what Cooper required at birth to help him live a normal life. These specialized surgeries are addressing these additional challenges.
They made their way back to the University of Minnesota for labs and everything looked good but they are still working to get his tacro (anti rejection med) back to the correct level. After surgery and not getting food for weeks 😳 it was hard to manage and all over the place. Cooper will have to get labs every couple of days until it is back to where it needs to be.

Unfortunately Cooper has to make his way back to Ohio on 12/19 for a follow up but thankfully they were able to get all three of his surgeons scheduled on the same day so it should be a short trip. In the meantime the Thompson’s are going to try and enjoy the holidays!

Katie and Eric want to say Thank You to everyone that reached out and kept them in their prayers during an exceptionally rough month 💚
