DAY 8 – May 6
📍 Herington → Eisenhower State Park
🚴‍♂️ Miles: 79

Purpose > fatigue.

Today’s ride rolled through the beautiful Flint Hills region of Kansas, one of the last remaining tallgrass prairie ecosystems in the world. Long stretches of trail, quiet scenery, and a reminder that some places still feel untouched.

Spent part of the day riding sections of the Flint Hills Trail State Park, a 118-mile rail trail that cuts through east-central Kansas. Smooth riding and a nice change of pace.

✨ Fun fact: Eisenhower State Park is named after President Dwight D. Eisenhower, a Kansas native.

After several long days, this should be a more relaxing evening – good food, some recovery, and getting ready to do it all again tomorrow.
