DAY 12 – May 10
📍 Windsor → Easley
🚴♂️ Miles: 87
Still pushing through the Missouri countryside after spending the night at the home of the Missouri State Fair. Long miles, quiet roads, and another day moving the mission forward.
✨ Fun fact: Easley is a small rural community — blink and you’ll miss it.
Mark was hoping for 100 miles today. Another strong day rolling across Missouri and along the Missouri River.
Today’s ride passed through the Osage Plains and Ozark Border natural divisions, through an old railroad tunnel, and alongside some incredible scenery that made the miles fly by.
Made a stop at the fairgrounds where a horse show was going on. Always fun seeing a completely different kind of athlete hard at work while traveling through these small towns.
Bill kept everyone fueled today — bacon for the first rest stop this morning 😊 and steaks, asparagus, onions, and toast on the grill for dinner last night. Not a bad way to recover after a long day in the saddle.
✨ Fun fact: The Katy Trail is the longest developed rail trail in the U.S., stretching more than 240 miles across Missouri.
